Pan Acoustics GmbH from Wolfenbüttel was nominated. On April 8, 2014, the 11th Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Day took place at the Hannover Messe. Under the title "Hidden Champions", successful Lower Saxony companies and their success strategies on the way to becoming world market leaders were presented. A highlight of the event was the awarding of the 5th Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Prize. There was a record 79 participants in this year's race for the fifth Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Award 2014, with fifty small and medium-sized enterprises and twenty-nine large companies competing for the established award and recognition of their export activities. Chaired by State Secretary Daniela Behrens, a 10-member jury made the selection for nomination.
All nominated companies convinced the jury with their annually increasing export quota and their innovative products. The employment effect for Lower Saxony - every second company handles its foreign business exclusively from its local site - as well as the corporate strategy behind it were also positively evaluated.
The number of applications clearly shows that export and import are no longer the domains of large companies. Increasingly, small and medium-sized companies are active and successful on world markets. Intercultural competence is becoming increasingly important for companies in the wake of globalization and the opening of new markets. A look at the export statistics of recent years shows a continuous increase in export figures. Companies that are active in foreign markets are a significant growth engine for our economy, and exports remain a central pillar for Lower Saxony's economy. The Minister of Economic Affairs honored these achievements by presenting the Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Award.
